The Extra 300L is a world class unlimited competition aerobatic aircraft, not a training aircraft. It is powerful, sleek and incredibly agile.
The Extra 300L has an inverted fuel system, which means it is capable of flying upside down - a basic requirement for an aerobatic aircraft. While most other aircraft have gravity-fed fuel systems, they may be able to roll upside down for a very short period of time however the engine does cough and splutter from fuel starvation and loses all power.
The Extra 300L has a variable pitch propeller and is able to deliver its full punch of 300HP at all times. Most other aircraft have fixed pitch propellers and are only able to deliver their full power of say 160HP in certain situations. When performing unlimited and extreme aerobatics, power is a key element.
Our Extra 300L is capable of unlimited aerobatics and subjecting the airframe and passengers to a maximum of +8G and -8G. Most other aerobatic aircraft are flight trainers and not competition aircraft, with an ability to fly some gentle aerobatics and are limited to well below these G-limits.
Most flight experience providers speak about an association with Air Race. Our Extra 300L is identical to some aircraft that have actually raced with RBAR. Our Extra 300L has been branded with Red Bull Air Race and used numerous times by RBAR as the media aircraft. Others talk about an association, ours really has the association.
